Announcements
9/6/18
Parents of 6th grade students: students are making a lot of progress in class. Please encourage your child to keep practicing at home because now is where the music starts to take off and those who fall off the BANDwagon (hahaha) of practicing start to get left behind and I wouldn't want that for any of my star players!
Parents of 7th/8th grade students: Online submissions of playing tests are still going to be happening because students perform better when they get multiple attempts to record. For those of us who do not have the technology available to record and submit will be doing so in class the day the assignments are due. Right now, there are no assigned test.
Any playing tests that students would like to make up can be done so via Google Classroom or for me on Tuesday/Thursday morning practice (7am-7:20am). Any makeup work will accepted up until Friday the 14th. Students are responsible for making up missed work without a teacher reminder.
8/23/18
-Most 6th graders are doing a great job of practicing every night at home for 20 minutes! Practicing at home is a requirement for the class so please help your student to remember to complete their band "homework" each night.
-A form is coming home with all 6th graders that needs to be completed if they wish to let their instrument be housed in our instrument storage room during the school day.
7th Grade Google Playing Tests:
1st Period- #142 due by the evening of Tuesday, 8/28/18
2nd Period- #132 due by the evening of Monday, 8/27/18
8th Grade- keep working each night in the red book and on our three concert pieces
8/10/18
Playing Tests are underway! They are now being submitted by your students to Google Classroom. Students will need access to technology at home that can easily record and access internet. Cell phones are the easiest option so if there is a family cell phone that the student can borrow, it will make their submissions much easier!
7th Grade: 109a submitted the week of 8/13
8th Grade: Concert Db Scale to be submitted by the evening of Monday, 8/20
6th graders are doing wonderful! To continue to be successful, I require that all students practice for 20 minutes each weeknight. Parents, thank you for bearing with their squeaks and squawks. They are getting better every single day!
If you still want to purchase some extra tickets for the Mudcats game on Saturday, June 23rd, YOU CAN!
